Bass: Casey Bartz
By day, Casey Bartz is a Doctor of Optometry at Moorhead Vision Associates, but evenings or weekends, he keeps busy as a church musician by playing piano and organ. Dr. Bartz lives in Moorhead and enjoys home improvement projects, landscaping, supporting the fine arts in FM, and travel.
Casey is a graduate of Concordia College. While at Concordia, he studied voice, piano and organ, and sang in the Concordia Choir. This is Casey's first year of singing in the Fargo-Moorhead Chamber Chorale, and he appreciates being involved again with a fine choral ensemble.
Soprano: Samantha DolsThe Fargo-Moorhead Chamber Chorale welcomes Samantha Dols to the soprano section. She recently moved to the F-M area, to work at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Fargo; and is celebrating her recent marriage. Samantha is a graduate of the University of Minnesota-Morris with a bachelor of Arts in vocal performance. She has has the privilege of singing in the National Catholic Youth Choir.
Bass: Rodney W. Capistran
Rod is in his thirteenth year singing bass in the Fargo-Moorhead Chamber Chorale. He is an Instructor of Mathematics at Fargo North High School. Rod received his PhD in Mathematics Education from the University of Minnesota, his Master's degree in Mathematics from the University of Iowa, and his Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics and Music Education at Bemidji State University, where he studied choral music and sang in the Bemidji Choir under Paul Brandvik; and studied trombone with Thomas Swanson.
Rod's family is musical. Along with singing in the Chamber Chorale, Rod also sings in the First Lutheran Church Choir. His wife, Jane, teaches violin at Concordia College and plays in the F-M Symphony. His daughter and son both are active participants in music organizations.

Alto: Brianne CorfmanBrianne is a graduate of Luther College in Decorah, Iowa, where she sang in several choirs; including the Nordic Choir, the Collegiate Chorale, the Cathedral Choir, and Pike Kor. She also participated in music while studying at the University of Iowa, and sang in the Alaskan Chamber Singers. This is Brianne's third year of singing in the Chamber Chorale.
Alto: Cindy Sabotthis is Cindy's second year in the Chamber Chorale, and she enjoys singing as a diversion. She teaches students with learning disabilities at Central Cass Public Schools in Casselton, North Dakota. Cindy has enjoyed several careers including using her music education degree in church settings, working in the banking industry, and an overseas volunteer position. through her experiences, she decided that teaching special needs would be her life's work.
Cindy has a music education degree from the University of Northern Iowa and a Master's Degree in learning disabilities from Minot State University.
Her previous singing experiences include the Des Moines Choral Society and the Williston Concert Chorale.
Tenor: Josh GroverJosh begins his second year singing tenor in the Fargo-Moorhead Chamber Chorale. He is a graduate of North Dakota State University, where he studied k-12 music education. He has been a soloist with sever symphony orchestras, and is currently the choral director at Sheyenne High School in West Fargo, North Dakota. Josh is a member of the North Dakota Music Educators Association and the North Dakota Chapter of the American Choral Directors Association.

Alto: Julie Jerger
Julie is an administrative assist for Houston Engineering, Inc. and is the resident secretary for the Buffalo-Red River Watershed district. Julie, and her husband Dennis, live on a dairy farm near Barnesville, Minnesota and they have two children, Mike and Katie.
Julie has been involved in music for most of her life. She is the Senior Choir director at St. James Church of Christ in Barnesville, Minnesota. Before joining the Fargo-Moorhead Chamber Chorale six years ago, she sang in the Geneva Eschweiler Singers in Fergus Falls, Minnesota, the Fergus Falls Summer Theater and the Fargo-Moorhead Opera chorus. Julie attended college at Minnesota State University-Moorhead and was a member of the Concert Choir.
Soprano: Martha Keeler. Olsen
Martha has lived in Fargo for twenty-four years. She came to Fargo as a graduate student, attending North Dakota State University, majoring in theater. While studying at NDSU, she was a voice student of Robert Olson. She comes from a musical family and has been performing for most of her life. She has been a high school drama director, and has been the Executive Director of the Arts Partnership of Fargo-Moorhead. Currently, Martha works as a life coach in the Fargo-Moorhead area.
Martha has a long affiliation with the Fargo-Moorhead Chamber Chorale. As a graduate student she sang in its second and third seasons, under its founding director, Mary Kay Geston. She returned to the Chamber Chorale in 1999. Martha is the Vice President of the Chamber Chorale's Board of Directors.

Alto: Audra Hagen-Grunhovd
Audra begins her first year of singing in the Fargo-Moorhead Chamber Chorale. She is an employee of RDO Equipment Co; and lives with her family in a home that was built in 1892. Audra's big project is remodeling her home, but also enjoys spending time with her family, reading, painting, playing the piano and singing.
Audra studied Anthropology/Sociology at NDSU. Music has always been part of Audra' life, Along with piano, she plays French horn and trumpet, is learning guitar and recently aquired a clarinet. She is a member of the St. John's Lutheran Gospel Ensemble.
Tenor: Paul Lindquist, MD
Paul is a veteran member of the Fargo-Moorhead Chamber Chorale; now in his eighth season. He is a graduate of Concordia College and he sang in the Concordia Choir, under Paul J. Christianson. He has been a member of the Master Chorale of Fargo-Moorhead; and plays trumpet in the Trinity Brass Ensemble at Trinity Lutheran Church in Moorhead.
Bass: Brandon JohnsonThe Fargo-Moorhead Chamber Chorale welcomes Brandon Johnson to the bass section! Brandon is finishing his studies at North Dakota State University, where he physics, mathematics and music. He is a voice student of Virginia Sublett and has performed with the NDSU Concert Choir for four years.

Bass: Thomas Holtey
Tom was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
His family moved to Fargo in the sixties, and they joined Olivet Lutheran Church; where Tom is still a member today. Tom received his bachelor's degree from Concordia College, and sang in the Concordia Choir under Paul J. Christianson. He sang in choirs while living in upstate New York. Most recently, Tom has sung with the Master Chorale of Fargo-Moorhead under Rene Clausen. This is his first year singing with the Chamber Chorale.

Soprano: Karin Almjeld
Karin is an Administrative Assistant at Appraisal Services, Inc. in Fargo, North Dakota, and is the past president of the Board of Directors. Karin grew up in a musical family, with her father being a choral and symphonic conductor. Karin is active in the Chamber Chorale as a singer and a soprano soloist in addition to her duties on the Board.

Soprano: Nicole Wischnak
A native of Moorhead, Nicole holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and Cultural Music from Concordia College, and a Master of Science in Management-Managerial Leadership Emphasis from The Minnesota School of Business. She currently is the Scheduling Coordinator at Solutions Behavioral Healthcare Professionals, and the Piano Accompanist at St. Odilia's Catholic Church in Fargo.
Nicole has always had a love and passion for music. While at Concordia, she was involved in numerous ensembles including The Concordia Choir, Liturgical Choir, helped established The Vocal Jazz Ensemble, and Piano Accompanist for various activities. She has sung in numerous productions with The Fargo-Moorhead Opera Company, and currently sings with The Master Chorale of Fargo-Moorhead. This is Nicole's second year with the Fargo-Moorhead Chamber Chorale.
Soprano: Anne GassmannAnne Gassmann begins her first year of singing with the Fargo-Moorhead Chamber Chorale. She currently directs the choirs at Barnesville Public Schools in Barnesville, Minnesota; with students in grades 5-12. Before teaching at Barnesville, Anne was the interim choir director at Shanley High School in Fargo.
Anne is a member of the American Choral Directors Association. She most recently received a Master's Degree in Choral Conducting from North Dakota State University along with a previous Bachelor's Degree in Music Education from NDSU. Anne says that she has thouroughly enjoyed working with Dr. Jo Ann Miller and Dr. Michael Weber throughout her education.

Bass: Andrew GearyAndrew is a native North Dakotan, born in Grand Forks. Since fifth grade, music has always been with him. Andrew will graduate from North Dakota State University with a degree in Music Education in the spring of 2014. At NDSU, Andrew sings in the NDSU Concert Choir and Statesmen. He has been a member of these groups for five years. He has been a mentor with the Red River Boy Choir. This is Andrew's first year in the Fargo-Moorhead Chamber Chorale.
Tenor: James Wolter
James is in his third year singing in the Fargo-Moorhead Chamber Chorale. James is a vocal music teacher in the Fargo Public School system; where he teaches over 400 students, grades 6-12, at Discovery, South and Davies schools.
James is a graduate of Concordia College. He is a board member of the North Dakota American Choral Directors Association and a member of the National Association for Music Education.

Bass: Benjamin Mordecai
This is Benjamin's first year of singing in the Fargo-Moorhead Chamber Chorale. Currently, he is a graduate student at North Dakota State University, studying choral conducting. Benjamin is a graduate of Gustavus Adolphus College with a Bachelor's Degree in piano performance and vocal music education.
Benjamin has always loved to sing, and has been involved in a choir; at least since high school. Some of the choirs are: Bethany College Concert Choir, theLindsborg Oratorio Society, The Gustavus Adolphus Choir; and he currently sings in the NDSU Concert Choir.
Tenor: Michael J. Burns, AIA
Mike has sung in the Fargo-Moorhead Chamber Chorale since 2002. He is a member of the tenor section and was the president of the organization from 2009-2011. Mike is the President of MJB Architects LTD. in Moorhead, Minnesota. He is a member of the American Institute of Architects Mike lives in Fargo and Mike and Pam have four adult children and three grandchildren. Pam is the artistic director of the Lake Agassiz Girls Choir.
Mike attended Minot State University and is a graduate of North Dakota State University. In addition to singing in the Chamber Chorale, he also sings in the choir of First Presbyterian Church in Fargo.
Alto: Jessica Stoertz
Jessica calls herself a confused cosmopolitan. She was born in Germany, grew up there, and is an American citizen. She came to Moorhead in 2007 to attend Concordia College and finds herself still in the upper midwest. She is the Operations Manager at Men's Warehouse in Fargo.
Jessica begins her second year singing in the Chamber Chorale. While at Concordia, she sang in the Chapel Choir, and at home, she sang in a gospel choir, "The Glory Singers for ten years. Jessica has been strongly influenced by her musician parents, and has been singing since she was five!
Alto: MaryAnn Berg
MaryAnn sings alto with the Fargo-Moorhead Chamber Chorale. She is a twenty five year veteran of the Chamber Chorale, and is a past member of the board of directors. After spending twenty-five years as a fundraising manager for Meritcare (Sanford Health) and for the YMCA of Cass and Clay Counties, she volunteers her many talents with several area organizations. She currently serves on the board of directors for Churches United for the Homeless and has been a member for the F-M Symphony board of directors.
MaryAnn enjoys spending time with her eight grandchildren and attending all the basketball games and gymnastics meets that she can. She sings in the Choir at First Lutheran Church in Fargo, and is a past member and director of Acappela Express and the Master Chorale of Fargo-Moorhead. She also has sung in the choir at Pontoppidan Lutheran Church and taught piano in her home for fourteen years.
MaryAnn holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in music education from Augsburg College in Minneapolis, Minnesota. When not keeping busy with her family, music, or community organizations, she loves to travel.

Soprano: Erin Gaffaney
Erin is excited to be singing with the Fargo-Moorhead Chamber Chorale and genuinely looks forward to the Tuesday evening rehearsals. She is the K-4 music instructor for the Perham MN school district. This is her third year teaching music and second year in Perham. She has been a public school music teacher for three years. During her free time she enjoys self-employment as a family and wedding photographer, teaching private piano and voice lessons, faking it as a whiskey and wine connoisseur, and more recently, singing with a pop/jazz-influenced band in St. Cloud MN.
In the summer of 2000, Erin was selected to sing in the National Catholic Youth Choir, conducted by Dr. Axel Theimer, at St. John's Abbey & University. From there, she attended Carthage College in Kenosha, WI and graduated in 2006 with a degree in music. At Carthage, she sang in the Carthage Chior and Lincoln Singers, and participated in opera workshop. She then worked as a church musician and attended St. Cloud State University, graduating with a music education degree in 2010. While in St. Cloud, she sang in the Great River Chorale and Kantori.
Tenor: Brian Wittman
Brian Wittman begins his twenty-fourth season with the Fargo-Moorhead Chamber Chorale. In addition to his singing duties he is the President the Chamber Chorale's Board of Directors and chairs the production committee. He maintains the Chamber Chorale's website and serves on other various committees.
Brian is a graduate of North Dakota State University and received his musical training at Bemidji State University, where he sang in the Bemidji Choir and studied choral music with Paul Brandvik.
Brian has been the senior technician and production stage manager for the Fargo-Moorhead Opera Company; working on over sixty opera productions. He has been a technician, producer and production stage manager for numerous musical and theatrical productions through-out the area, including Moorhead, Fargo and West Fargo Schools. Along with singing in the Chamber Chorale, Brian enjoys classic cars, politics, road trips and writing. His latest project is the restoration of a 1977 International Harvester Cub Cadet garden tractor.

Tenor: Michael SiggerudMike is a retired music educator an school administrator. He currently is an adjunct instructor at Minnesota State University-Moorhead. This is Mike's third year with the Chamber Chorale, and he also keeps busy by singing in the Master Chorale of Fargo-Moorhead and the St. Joseph's Church choir. He has also performed in several productions of the Fargo-Moorhead Opera.
Mike received his Bachelor of Music degree from Concordia College, his Master of Science from Minnesota State University-Moorhead and his PhD from North Dakota State University.
Alto: Lorelee BenzLorelee is in her fourth year singing in the Fargo-Moorhead Chamber Chorale. She is the word processing manager at Bell State Bank and Trust of Fargo, and also serves as a commissioned lay pastor at Baker-Downer Presbyterian Church in Baker, Minnesota.
Lorelee is a graduate of Drake University, Des Moines, Iowa, with a Bachelor of Music degree concentrating in vocal performance and percussion. She has performed with the Des Moins Symphony Chorale, the Houston Symphony Chorus, the Fargo-Moorhead Opera and many church choirs.
Tenor: Mark Gealy
Mark has been singing for as long as he can remember; and has been singing in the Fargo-Moorhead Chamber Chorale since 1996. Earlier choral affiliations include: The Master Chorale of Fargo-Moorhead, First Plymouth Church in Lincoln, Nebraska and Wellshire Presbyterian Church in Denver, Colorado. Even longer ago,l Mark sang with the Hastings (NE) College Choir in each of his four collegiate years there.
Inspired by folk music of the 1950s and 1960s, Mark began playing acoustic guitar at an early age. He maintains a modest repertoire of his own arrangements of folk/roots songs.
Mark makes his living as a scientist. He received a Master of Science and PHD degrees at the University of Denver. following a post-doctoral fellowship at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, he joined the faculty at Concordia College in 1990.
He enjoys life at home with his wife and two cats. Together, they collect fine wines, Native American art and toys that squeak.
Bass: Doug HermanDoug says his first inspiration to sing was in church at the age of 6. He is in his fourth year of singing in the Fargo-Moorhead Chamber Chorale and also serves on the Board of Directors. Doug is a judge in the East Central District in North Dakota, and was appointed to the bench in 2004 by Governor John Hoven. He has been the general council to Great Plains Software and a practicing attorney through the Vogel Law Firm in Fargo. In addition to singing in the Chamber Chorale, Doug also sings in the Master Chorale of Fargo-Moorhead.
LeeAnn is enjoying her fourth year of singing in the Fargo-Moorhead Chamber Chorale and has a distinct love for choral music. Originally from Bismarck, North Dakota, she is a teacher of kindergarten through fifth grade music in the Fargo Public School System. She is a member of the Chamber Chorale's Board of Directors, and coordinates the silent auction for 'A Singing Valentine.'
LeeAnn received her Bachelor's degree in Music Education from North Dakota State University, and a Master's of Music from Minnesota State University-Moorhead. She is an active member of the American Choral Directors Association, the National Association for Music Education, the Organization of American Kodaly Educators and is the vice-president of the Northern Plains Kodaly Chapter.
LeeAnn is certain to sing every day, and she also enjoys hunting, fishing, scrapbooking and playing with her two cats.
Bass: Carl H. WichmanCarl is a veteran member of the Fargo-Moorhead Chamber Chorale, having been a member for well over twenty years. Carl has sung under all, but one, director! Carl is the assistant director of the North Dakota State University Bookstore, where he supervises the text book and general book departments. He has been involved in book distribution since 1978 and is an avid reader. Carl holds a Bachelor of Science in vocal music from Minnesota State University-Moorhead. He has been a member of the First Lutheran Church Choir for over twenty years and has been a member of the Fargo-Moorhead Opera Company, and appeared in productions of the Fargo-Moorhead Cmmunity Theater.
Soprano: Carrie ZimmermanCarrie is new to the Fargo-Moorhead community, coming to the area from Rochester, Minnesota. She very much loves her life here, and is honored to be a new member of the Fargo-Moorhead Chamber Chorale. Carrie attended Bethany College in Mankato, Minnesota, where she sang in several choirs and participated in opera and recitals. While at Bethany College, she studied voice with Ann Fredrickson. Most recently, Carrie sang in the Rochester Symphonic Chorus, directed by Michael Culloton. She is very happy to have Michael as a director once again.
Alto: Lexy Steinle
Lexy teaches at Robert Asp Elementary in Moorhead, MN, and is an active member at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Fargo; where she directs two children's choirs and the 8th grade-college Praise Band. She is also a church youth leader. Lexy grew up in Worthington, MN, and was strongly influenced by her high school choir director, Joseph Osowski (a former singer in the Chamber Chorale) and Cindy Anderson; who inpires Lexy every day to be the same kind of teacher. She is a graduate of Concordia College and sang in the Concordia Choir for three years. This is Lexy's first year of singing the the Fargo-Moorhead Chamber Chorale.
Alto: Jenn Jensen
Jenn moved to Fargo from the Twin Cities in August 2012 and has a degree in Music Theatre from Carthage College in Kenosha, WI. She joined the Chamber Chorale in December 2012. While living in the Twin Cities area, Jenn was the Alto Soloist/Section Leader at Edgcumbe Presbyterian church and a member of the a capella ensemble DeCantus. She also sang for a season with the St. Paul Vocal Forum. On the theatre side, Jenn has perfomed with more than a dozen different community theatres in Minnesota, Wisconsin and Illinois. She toured for a year with the Missoula Children's Theatre, working with hundreds of children in 8 states and Canada. Jenn has been involved in various aspects of music theatre, including teaching acting and singing classes through public education and a private dance studio and vocal directing community theatre productions. She currently spends her days working for Noridian Healthcare Solutions in Fargo and one night a week teaching K-4 Theatre at the Fargo Moorhead Community Theatre.
