Artistic Staff
Artistic Director: Paul Nesheim
Paul Nesheim is an associate professor of music and the director of choral activities at Minnesota State University Moorhead; where he conducts three choirs and teaches choral conducting. He is also the conductor of the Senior Choir at the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd in Moorhead, Minnesota.
During the 2009-2010 academic year, Dr. Nesheim was a visiting associate professor of music at the Lawrence University Conservatory of Music in Appleton, Wisconsin. He has also served on the faculties of Concordia College in Moorhead, Minnesota and Northern State University in Aberdeen, South Dakota. He has held positions as a high school vocal music director and church choir director in Minnesota, California, Iowa and Arizona.
Dr Nesheim holds a Doctor of Musical Arts degree from the University of Arizona, a Master of Music degree from Arizona State University and a Bachelor of Arts degree from St. Olaf College in Northfield, Minnesota. He has studied conducting with Maurice Skones, Douglas McEwen, Kenneth Jennings and Miles Johnson. Dr. Nesheim is an active member of the American Choral Directors Associan, and is a frequent clinician and guest conductor. He is a published composer and is the author of Building Beautiful Voices, a book of vocalization methods and materials, published by Roger Dean Publishing Company.
Accompanist: Susan Nagel
Susan Nagel is the rehearsal and performance accompanist for the Fargo-Moorhead Chamber Chorale. Ms. Nagel recently completed a Master's degree in piano performance at North Dakota State University, where she was a student of Robert Groves. She received a Bachelor of Music degree from Minnesota State University-Moorhead where she studied with Nancy Harris. She has also studied with David Worth at Concordia College.
Ms. Nagel currently is on the adjunct music faculty at Concordia College and Minnesota State University-Moorhead, and was a graduate assistant piano instructor in the music department at North Dakota State University. Ms. Nagel also maintains a private piano studio in her home. In addition to her pianist duties with the Chamber Chorale, she is the accompanist for many faculty and student recitals in the Fargo-Moorhead area universities.
Susan lives in Fargo, is married and has three children.
